Insights from the 467th RC Meeting

The 467th Registration Committee (RC) meeting, held on 10th October 2025, marked another milestone for India’s agrochemical and biopesticide sector. The meeting underscored continued growth in formulation manufacturing (FIM), technical synthesis (TIM), and biopesticide innovation, reaffirming India’s dual path toward self-reliance and sustainability AAKLAN October.

🔹Chemical Cases under 9(3) TI, TIM, FI & FIM

A total of 11 applications were discussed under Section 9(3), primarily focusing on advanced formulations for pest and disease control.

Key highlights include:

  • Syngenta India Ltd.Sedaxane + Azoxystrobin + Thiamethoxam FS approved for sheath blight, leaf blast, and brown spot in rice.
  • Gharda Chemicals Ltd.Indoxacarb + Chlorantraniliprole OD approved for diamondback moth, fruit borer, and pod borer in cabbage, tomato, and chickpea (subject to MRL fixation).
  • Bayer CropScience Ltd.Fluoxapiprolin 1.9% SC approved till June 2029 for downy mildew and late blight in grape, cucumber, and tomato.
  • Tropical Agrosystem India Pvt. Ltd. and Willowood Chemicals Ltd. – secured approvals for combination fungicide and insecticide formulations targeting chilli, grape, and other major crops.

Most FIM and TIM cases were approved, while a few TI (new source) cases were deferred for additional data and CIL sample verificationAAKLAN October.

🔹Chemical Cases under 9(4) TI

All 9(4) TI cases were approved, mainly covering imports of key technical-grade molecules.
The list included actives such as Carbendazim, Glyphosate, Cartap hydrochloride, Butachlor, and Fosetyl aluminium, primarily sourced from leading Chinese suppliers — Anhui Huaxing, Jiangxi Oushi, and Shandong Weifang Rainbow Chemical.

This indicates a stable and diversified supply chain for technical imports, supporting uninterrupted raw material availability for domestic formulation unitsAAKLAN October.

🔹Biopesticide Approvals under 9(3)

Biopesticides maintained strong momentum, with 56 approvals and 1 deferred case during this meeting.

Widely approved genera included:

  • Bacillus subtilis, Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae, Paecilomyces lilacinus, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Trichoderma viride, Verticillium lecanii, and Ampelomyces quisqualis.

These were cleared for key crops like brinjal, maize, tomato, okra, and grape, targeting pests such as aphids, jassids, whitefly, fall armyworm, and powdery mildew.

👉 This diverse list of approvals highlights India’s accelerating shift toward eco-friendly biological solutions and enhanced participation from small and mid-scale biopesticide manufacturersAAKLAN October.

🔹Chemical Cases under 9(4) TIM

The committee reviewed 27 TIM applications, out of which 24 were approved.

Key approvals included:

  • Haloxyfop R-methyl ester, Fomesafen, Diclosulam, Thifluzamide (Crystal Crop Protection Ltd.)
  • Propaquizafop, Lufenuron (Bharat Rasayan Ltd.)
  • Cyclaniliprole, Dinotefuran, Tembotrione, Paclobutrazole among others.

Only two applications were rejected due to “Nil A.I. content” in the Analytical Test Reports, underscoring the RC’s strict stance on data quality.

The overall outcome reflects India’s growing capability in indigenous technical synthesis and a consistent ‘Make in India’ push for agrochemical productionAAKLAN October.

🔹Chemical Cases under 9(4) FIM

The 467th meeting recorded the highest number of formulation approvals under Section 9(4) FIM to date.

Top 10 most frequently registered formulations included:

  1. Chlorantraniliprole (various combinations and concentrations) – 14 registrations
  2. Azoxystrobin + Difenoconazole SC – 12 registrations
  3. Thiamethoxam formulations – 11 registrations
  4. Fipronil formulations – 10 registrations
  5. Tebuconazole + Trifloxystrobin WG / SC – 9 registrations

Other frequently approved actives: Thiophanate Methyl, Profenofos + Cypermethrin, Glyphosate, Triacontanol, Pyroxasulfone, and Sulphur formulations.

On the company front, Worldgreen Crop Care Pvt. Ltd. led the approvals with 25 registrations, followed by Sahara Agri Products (15) and Agrozenith Crop Guard (12).

This pattern clearly indicates increased domestic formulation capacity and innovation, enabling farmers with more crop-specific solutions and improved access to modern mixturesAAKLAN October.

📌Conclusion
