Haryana, September 15, 2025 – The Central Insecticides Board & Registration Committee (CIB&RC) has issued a public notice following communication from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) regarding the ban on the import of Methyl Bromide in Libya.
According to an official letter received from the Ozone Cell, MoEFCC, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) confirmed through Libya’s National Ozone Officer that the country has banned the import of Methyl Bromide since 2014. The National Ozone Unit, Libya, has not granted any company permission to import this substance in recent years.
During its 465th meeting, the Registration Committee deliberated the issue under Agenda Item No. 10.44 and directed that a public notice be circulated to ensure compliance.
“RC deliberated the agenda and noted the communication sent by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on ban on Methyl Bromide import in Libya and directed the Secretariat of CIB&RC to issue a public notice for compliance by all registrants of methyl bromide.”

The directive was issued with the approval of the Secretary, CIB&RC.
